Linda Bilda’s title for her series “No Polit Comics” refers to the artist group NO of the 1950s and `60s, a group of Jewish immigrants working on political issues in New York. A further reference is the Japanese Nō theater. Bilda’s NO comics tackle social problems and propagate a more progressive form of society. Many topics discuss politics of the day as well as feminist issues. W.S.
