Heimo Zobernig
Heimo Zobernig, Vienna, 9 June 2023
“Not doing—that’s how it usually starts.”
It is a downright provocatively austere and reduced approach that the artist and interior designer Heimo Zobernig exhibits in his works, which are simultaneously permeated by a conspicuous enthusiasm for dialog, cooperation, and the richest engagement with art, art history, language, and philosophy. At his studio in Vienna, Zobernig tells of exhibitions from A to Z, possible continuations of modernism, art and spaces that invite one to linger and contemplate at length, and “works that serve to avoid something else being done—like a white surface on Mariahilfer Straße.”
