Kontakt initiates new forms of dialog and cooperation in order to open up the works of the collection to new ways of interpretation and different contexts. In doing so, Kontakt strives to keep past artistic energies alive as well as associate them with and gauge them against the latest geopolitical developments. This commitment is mirrored in the collection’s public presentations. The presentation of artworks remains decentralized, nomadic, and independent of institutional or locally anchored exhibition spaces. Parts of the collection or its entirety are available to art institutions worldwide, with the support and collaboration of and through dialog with international artists, curators and theoreticians, new forms of exhibition-making and mediation are tested.
