“Neue Slowenische Kunst” [New Slovenian Art], shortened NSK, is an art movement or artistic organization which was established in 1984 in Ljubljana. Irwin was one of its founding members, other members are the rock band Laibach, the theatre company Sestre Scipion Nasice, the design group New Collectivism, and the Department of Practical Philosophy. The artistic, methodological, and philosophic practice of NSK is commonly named “Retro-avant-garde”, a term first used by Laibach in 1983.
