Kentaur
/7
The film "Kentaur" (1973-1975) shows the day-to-day work life of housewives, farmers, factory workers and their supervisors. While the images are reminiscent of typical propaganda films of the period, the resynchronized dialogues throw a critical, but also humorous and philosophical glance at the working conditions of this time. The sound is post-synchronized and comments critically on life determined by labor, machines and disciplined organization. The dialogues are philosophical, humorous, and sometimes grotesque. The film was produced in the state-funded Béla Balázs Studios. The subtitle critique of the film was registered by the Hungarian censorship office and was banned before its first public screening in 1975. The current version has been made available in a reconstructed version since 2009. D.H.
