Suspended Corridor
/2
In the 1960s, Karel Malich's main theme became the so-called corridors or channels of energy, which, according to his experience, were even the body of the artist himself. In reality they denoted a momentous reversal because they abdicated from the anthropocentric principle and the existential experience. At the same time, Malich’s drawings began to step down from the page and became sculptural, hanging in space. “Suspended Corridor“ was constructed on the basis of drawings from 1967. Here, a sculpture becomes a conductive field that connects the space of the sculpture with the endless space of the universe. J.S.
