In the series of photographs "Examples of Analytical Sculpture," the artist deconstructs perception of a classical art form—sculpture—by introducing elements of body art including erotic topoi in analytical procedure. B.S.

The artist, who is also the author of the idea of the work, touches with his lips a nude female in an imaginary spiral, starting from her head and proceeding to the tip of her toe. In close proximity (around 30 cm), the camera records every point of the woman’s body (ear, cheek shoulder, back, stomach, hips, legs, feet) that the artist touches, his lips opened as in a kiss and his eyes closed, so that the touch is in the center of each photograph and that any eventual photographic composition or esthetics may be avoided. The spiral movement was performed in space as a work in itself and was then necessarily presented in the form of a photograph as the most appropriate medium. All the while, the female nude stands in the classical sculpture’s contrapposto. Visually, the moments of the lips touching the nude surface establish the relationship between the surface of the absolute sculpture and its receipt, acceptance, discovery of a possible system for … the relationship ceases to be.
