Based on her video recordings (rather than the other way around) are Friederike Pezold’s frame drawings, representing a type of storyboard-in-the-aftermath: “Three Pieces of a Woman’s Movement” (1974) shows 540 tiny images on an A4 page. Done in pencil and ink on parchment paper and edited as a Xerox copy on white paper, the individual frames drawn to conform with the monitor’s screen format trace the corresponding video’s progress. Pezold depicts one frame from every ca. three seconds, with the number of individual drawings depending on the video’s total length. The artist’s notes at the bottom of the sheet say: 540 images of the videotape “3 Pieces of a Woman’s Movement” by Friederike Pezold 74. Per image ca. 3 seconds = 540 x 3 = 1620 sec : 60 : 27 +++ the videotape thus lasts 27 – 30 minutes. S.E.
