Fedor Vučemilović’s work during his time as member of the Group of Six Artists included photographing the exhibition-actions undertaken by other members of the group. The overarching idea of these one-off or single-day exhibitions in the form of sudden interventions was to realize artistic presentations, disruptive communication, and provocative performances in public space, which resulted in immediate contact with the materiality at hand and processes of direct interaction with the audience. Kontakt possesses a selection of 30 photographs taken by Vučemilović to document these exhibition-actions, which were carried out in Zagreb’s city center, at the bank of the Sava river, at the university, as well as in other prominent cities such as Belgrade and Venice. The artists chose their own settings in which to probe a conceptual approach to various media while engaging viewers or passers-by and making them aware of the necessity of rethinking aesthetic conventions and bodily norms.
