The artist’s book “word works” consists merely of single words or definitions. Jiří Valoch’s concept is exemplified by the row “illegible,” consisting of four meanings of the non-existence of something, and by “forgotten,” where the terms are unrecognizable and non-existent. The artist connects the universality of language with non-material. In the works of Valoch, art constitutes itself by reflecting the ideational content of terms and their elementary connections. J.P.
