/3
The problem of change taking place over time—both in concentrated form and in a philosophical respect—can be seen in the film "Celebrating the Next Twinkling." Here the main characters are two nameless girls. Within the span of less than 3 minutes, their mood shifts from euphoric joy to extreme fear, ultimately leading to aggression. Breaking down the sequences in the cutting room enables the whole gamut of feelings and emotions capturing the mind to be clearly traced. Nobody is able to predict what will happen to themselves in the twinkling of an eye. There is no eternal happiness, but there also exists no never-ending pain, and there are never any eternal values. Our life is a string of peaks and troughs. Emotion is the most frequent catalyst of our actions.
These kinds of personal experiences and reflections have been the subject of interpretation by many artists, using various means. Boryana Rossa has chosen tools most appropriate to our times, using the technical capabilities of electronic media with their powerful impact on the senses, as well as the techno-aesthetics of her own generation. In this way, she is able to bring together that global artistic process which is gradually filling the existing gap between artistic practices in the East and the West. I.K., 2000
