A View of the Valley

I invited about 15 people to come to a large pile of crushed stone of the edge of the city at exactly 10 am. I marked the spot with a black iron rod which I erected with the help of an assistant. Just before 10 o’clock, the assistant buried me under about 30 cm of crushed stone in a shallow depression with my head near the rod. I was wrapped in a white sheet. The place was levelled to blend with the surroundings. Those who were invited arrived, and after about 45 minutes had gone by, they left again. Then I was dug out. J.M.
