Fire at the Exhibition Palace.
One of the largest fires in the city’s history broke out on the night of August 14 in the Exhibition Palace in the Prague quarter of Holešovice. The fire started in the upper stories of the Palace’s right wing, from which it spread into the entire building. Firemen were able to save a part of the ground floor and the basement areas. Damage is estimated at tens of millions of crowns. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. J.M.
