In the performance "3 Elements," Petr Štembera deals with light and/or heat, glass, and the human body. Applying a type of putty to his body and holding a glass plate to his torso, onto which the lamp on the table radiated its light and warmth, Štembera probed his body’s limitations—a feature that typifies many of his 1970s body art performances, in which he put himself in extreme situations in order to find out just how much his body could withstand.
