“Coming Soon / Post Scriptum” is a video realized by Andrzej Partum in Copenhagen during a visit by Zygmunt Rytka, who served as the cameraman. This work depicts the artist on a walk through town as he makes stops that successively go through the letters of the alphabet. For each given letter, Partum lists random words. This simple game changes the walk into a semi-psychogeographic trip that transforms the cityscape into a space of hidden signs or even a book to be read. Partum does not reach the end—the sequence stops at K, assigned by the artist to the word “Katastrofa” (catastrophe). During his years in Denmark, Partum had trouble communicating with the outside world since he never learned the local language. The practice registered in this video, however, allowed him to trace a different system of signs. D.M.
