I stand in the room with two video cameras mounted to my upper body, one in front, one in back. I move according to a geometric figure standing in the room as object, as three-dimensional spiral. The images produced by the two cameras are displayed on eight monitors, four each stacked as towers to the left and right next to the action space. Two monitors in each tower show the frontal view and two the dorsal one. In the free space between the two monitor blocks, the spectators can follow the progress of the performance. The walls are designed in classic art-display fashion. Through the movement of the cameras and the transmission of the images to the monitors, however, a new figure comes about. Out of this figure emerges a new sculpture. This relationship between space and object, environment and image, which could not be mastered through the classic sculpture, is articulated artistically here through video. V.E.
