As the expressions "hearing space," "seeing space," "facial space," "spatial sounds," "sound space," "sound volumes' etc. show, music is coupled with space in a primal manner. This tape is an attempt at an elementary demonstration of this realm of tonal and bodily movements in space. Synthetic tones were used as sound material, with the possible spatial positions and the possible tones both strictly reduced. The intitial material is a single, periodically recurring tone generated by a synthesizer; instead of generating the illusion of a sound source moving through space, the tone moves instead within an imaginary field of reference - according to the following scheme: optical: NEAR - acoustic: LOUD and RAPID REPETITIONS OF THE TONE, optical: FAR - acoustic: SOFT and SLOW REPETITIONS OF THE TONE."
